Curtain Calls & Cocktails: The Arsonists | by Anant
Welcome to ***Curtain Calls & Cocktails***, a night of culture & camaraderie at one of Vancouver's favourite theatres. We're heading to for a viewing of "The Arsonists" – a play that's somehow funny, shocking, and thought-provoking all at once.
**🎭 A Toast to Theatre: 🎭**
We'll kick off the evening at Koerner's Pub for a social tipple before kicking off the main event. And don't worry – this event is for theatre newbies as much as anyone, no aficionado chit-chat happening here.
**🔥 A Play to Remember: 🔥**
After our captivating convos, we’ll head to the show. Originally written as a reflection on the rise of both Nazism and Communism, *The* *Arsonists* is a timely political satire about the cost of complacency.
A town is plagued by acts of arson, yet an upstanding businessman remains unperturbed. Ever the hospitable host, he welcomes two new guests into his home, helping them store drums of gasoline in his attic and offers them a light.
**🌟 Stay for the Encore: 🌟**
The show is a thought-provoking reflection on a society that at times could feel quite real, so stick around after the play to chat about the performance, share your thoughts, and make some new pals.
**🧥 Dress for Drama: 🧥**
As for attire, come dressed in your best casual wear – a jacket is a smart addition since we’ll stroll through the campus before reaching the theatre.
**🍷 What to Bring: 🍷**
All you need are two pieces of ID for ordering drinks at the pub (and maybe your best theatre critic impression).
See you there,
Anant
